PUBLIC HEARING ON THE COUNTY BUDGET AND AD VALOREM TAX LEVY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015

The Board of Supervisors of Winston County will hold a public hearing for fiscal year 2014-2015 on September 2, 2014, at 10:30 am in the Boardroom of the Winston County Courthouse at Louisville, Mississippi. At this meeting a proposed 2014-2015 budget will be considered.

Winston County is now operating with projected total budget revenue of $10,966,693.00. 34.4%, or $3,722,542.00, of such revenue is obtained through Ad Valorem taxes. For the next fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total projected revenue of $11,677,507.00. Of that amount, 30.4 %, or $3,554,418.00 is proposed to be financed through Ad Valorem tax levy.

There will be no increase in millage. This means that you will pay the same ad valorem taxes on your home, car tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment, and rental property unless your valuation has changed.

Any citizens of Winston County are invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed Ad Valorem tax revenue in the budget and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken.
