WINSTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC HEARING ON THE COUNTY BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014

The Board of Supervisors of Winston County will hold a public hearing for fiscal year 2013-2014 on September 3, 2013, at 10:30 am in the Boardroom of the Winston County Courthouse at Louisville, Mississippi. At this meeting a proposed 2013-2014 budget will be considered.

Winston County is now operating with projected total budget revenue of $11,563,492.00. Thirty-three (33%) percent, or $3,815,952.00, of such revenue is obtained through Ad Valorem taxes. For the next fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total projected revenue of $10,966,693.00. Of that amount, 34.4 percent, or $3,772,542.00 is proposed to be financed through Ad Valorem tax levy.

The increase, if any, in Ad Valorem tax revenue means that you would pay more in Ad Valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures, and equipment and rental real property. There will be no increase in millage.

Any citizens of Winston County are invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed Ad Valorem tax revenue increase in the budget and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken.

Julie Cunningham, Clerk
Winston County Board of Supervisors
