Supervisors' Declaration of Emergency 3/16/2020

The Winston County Board of Supervisors declared a State of Emergency for the County in a Monday morning meeting (03/16/2020) in response to the Corona Virus pandemic (COVID-19). This declaration opens the county to receive state and federal assistance if needed. The declaration will remain in effect for 30 days and is subject to renewal if necessary.

BOS President Luke Parkes also stated that the Board is requesting all Winston County employees to stop all nonessential travel outside of the county during the 30 day period. Parkes cautioned employees that if they do travel outside the area , they should contact their department head when leaving and returning. The county reserves the right to evaluate an employee's situation and those in question may be asked to self -quarantine.

The Winston County Courthouse and court system will remain open and conducting business. Whenever possible the public is encouraged to use other means of doing business that may not involve personal contact.  Many county transactions can be conducted by telephone or internet. Please contact the county department head of the appropriate office for options.
