Winston County EMA Requests the Public's Assistance

Winston County is contained with Mississippi Emergency Management Agency District 4. Other counties included in this District are Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Lowndes, Monroe, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Webster. MEMA District 4 is in the process of reviewing its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Hazard Mitigation Plan is a document that is required by FEMA for any county to participate in its grant and disaster reimbursement programs. The Plan incorporates how the local government will respond to any type of natural disaster or man-made emergency. It also serves as the guide that municipal and county governments use to develop preparedness, prevention, and educational programs to address all threats to the communities.

As a part of the re-writing program, FEMA requires that citizens have a route to express their concerns and ideas regarding the safety and security of their community. The opportunity for the citizens of Winston County, the City of Lousiville, and the Town of Noxapater is through a simple on-line survey. The short survey should only take about five minutes of your time to complete and will show your concerns and interests in making our community a safer place to live. Please take the short amount of time required and let us hear your voice and include your concerns in our plan. Just click on this link SURVEY and answer the short questions.

There is a written version of this survey available at the Chancery Clerk’s Office or at the Louisville City Clerk’s Office. Please feel free to drop by and pick up a copy during normal business hours.
